Remember the discussion on whether deaf people should be limited to one provider per house?
Purple has filed a response strongly opposing the petition. You can download a copy of the response here.
We note that
There is no basis to roll back the rights of the deaf and hard of hearing to freely choose their relay providers..

I filed the comment below with FCC via the web page: http://fjallfoss.fcc.gov/prod/ecfs/upload_v2.cgi with docket number 03-123
I oppose Sorenson’s 8/4/09 filing petition to have the Commission declare that consumers have only 1 default provider at a location, regardless of how many VP devices they may have or from whom it was acquired. Deaf people have the same right as hearing people to have more than one telephone provider and different brands telephones each with their own number. The safety claim is an outright lie. I suggest you see for yourself by asking two non-Sorenson VRS providers to install a VP in your office and make calls to a PSAP from each VP.
I encourage you to copy the above paragraph, paste it in your word processing program, save it, go to the web page provided, fill the form, choose any word provider in the menu, find the saved paragraph, and click on radio box that allows you put it on the form. Then send it.
